Future Ready
Future Ready website is designed to help young disabled people think about what they want to do after school. It was developed by Yes Disability and I.Lead, and co-designed by disabled youth with the intention of creating a better transition experience.
While the website is aimed towards young people, it’s hoped parents, educators and others will find the directory and resources useful in supporting their young person on their transition journey.
Prader-Willi Syndrome
The Prader-Willi Syndrome Association of New Zealand website talks about how to support your teen towards gaining more independence.
Spectrum Care Transition Support
This programme offers school-leavers transition planning, that includes developing work skills, access to volunter work, vocational programmes and more.
Transition expos
Transition expos are held at local high schools or sometimes larger community venues to help disabled students’ explore their options after school.
The people who come to transition expos are disability, education, social welfare and vocational service providers who are want to give you clear and the right amount of information to support students and whānau in making some exciting and sometimes daunting decisions.
