Anglican Trust for Women

ATWC provides emotional and practical support in the areas of parenting skills, child behaviour, relationship issues, early childhood education, abuse, neglect, family violence, separation, loss, grief, poverty and housing.

They  help parents, families and care givers to gain the life skills they need to improve the lives and futures of the children in their care.

Some of their services include:

  • Counselling
  • Parenting classes
  • Support from child psychotherapists
  • Social work services.

 

Auckland Women’s Centre

Auckland Women’s Centre provides a range of community education courses and support groups designed to boost women’s confidence and strengthen connections. Together, participants learn new skills—mental, physical, cultural, and emotional—that inspire growth and empowerment.

Centre of Māori Suicide Prevention

Tiaki Whānau, Tiaki Ora is for whānau by whānau approach to suicide prevention.  This wānanga deliberately reaches whānau Māori in their homes. They believe that whānau have the answers and they are the solution to Ora.

Specialised Counselling is a private practitioner with lived experience. They are fluent in NZSL and uses speech and hearing aids to communicate with hearing people.

Family Action

Family Action provides confidential support in West Auckland for all survivors of family harm, sexual harm, abuse, or trauma. Whether your experiences are historical or current, they will provide support to you and your family/whānau.

Free or low cost counselling

The Auckland Therapy Counselling and Psychotherapy website has information on where you can get funding to pay for some counselling sessions.

Kia Piki te Ora

The Kia Piki Te Ora programme uses specially designed activities to assist whānau and individuals to face the challenging issues and impacts of suicide.

Mapu Maia

Mapu Maia is made up of qualified Pacific practitioners who deliver clinical interventions and educational presentations that are appropriate to the needs of Pacific communities. In addition, the team works collaboratively with community agencies and social services to assist them to support Pacific families in need.

North Shore Women’s Centre

Providing support services for women experiencing difficult and challenging times to help them become stronger in their choices and lives. They offer:

  • free legal clinic

  • free social work service

  • low cost counselling

  • assessment service

  • information and referral.

Stand Tū Māia

Stand Tū Māia provides family therapy and a range of support for children and families who have been through difficult or traumatic experiences.

Te Whare Ruruhau o Meri

Te Whare Ruruhau o Meri (Te Whare) is a kaupapa Māori social services provider. Located in Manukau and Kaitaia, we provide services to whānau on behalf of Te Hāhi Mihinare – The Māori Anglican Church.

Some of their services include:

  • A healing korowai programme for wāhine Māori
  • A healing tokotoko programme for tāne Māori
  • Non-violence programmes for wāhine and tāne Māori
  • Safety programmes for wāhine and tāne Māori.

 

Vaka Tautua

Vaka Tautua delivers community programmes and services for Pacific peoples, especially to older people, those living with disability, and people seeking support for their mental health.

Yellow Brick Road

Formerly known as Supporting Families NZ, Yellow Brick Road is a national organisation that provides support for whānau who have a loved one experiencing mental health challenges.
