Time to update your CSC card?
Every now and then, when we review people’s supports, we notice that some of their details aren’t quite up to date. One of the most common things we see is an expired Community Services Card (CSC ) which could affect the continuation of their Household Management Support.
Only people with CSC are eligible to receive Household Management Support. CSC is managed by Work and Income, which is a service under the Ministry of Social Development (MSD). They decide who is eligible based on their situation and income, among other things. Having a CSC helps reduce costs for a range of health and support services, and for our purposes, it’s what allows a person to access Household Management Support through DSS. If we don’t have your current CSC number, we can’t keep this support going.
The good news is it’s pretty simple to sort out. Just give Work and Income a call on 0800 999 999 or visit the Work and Income website to request a new card. Once updated, email us your new CSC number, and we’ll take care of the rest.
Sometimes people wonder if we can get this information ourselves, especially now that we’re funded by the MSD. We use a system completely separate from MSD. So it really helps if people can let us know their new CSC number once it’s updated.
By making sure we have your current CSC number, you’ll help us keep your Household Management Support running smoothly without interruption.
