Social story: Kaikaranga is the new name of my NASC

This story talks about the name change from Taikura to Kaikaranga. It explains the while the name is different, the people, services and support remain the same.

1. Taikura is giving its services a new name. The new name is Kaikaranga.

For more than 23 years, I have known my NASC service as Taikura Trust. Now, the name is changing to Kaikaranga.

2. What is staying the same?

Even though the name is different, the people and support I know will stay the same.

  • I can still call the same phone number.
  • I can still talk to the same people.
  • Taikura Trust is still there in the background, helping Kaikaranga.

3. Why did the name change?

Our logo Kaikaranga set against a deep green.

The service is growing and adding more ways to support me. Kaikaranga is about welcoming and guiding people. This means my support will continue in the same way, and more help may be available in the future.

4. What will happen?

  • On March 26 2025, I will use the www.kaikaranga.org.nz website for information about my NASC service.
  • Email addresses will change, but old ones will still work for a while.
  • I can keep calling the same phone number if I need help.

5. If I have questions

If I am unsure about something, I can:

  • Talk to my usual support person.
  • Call 0800 824 5872 for help.
  • Complete one of the forms on their website.

6. Everything is okay

The name change is part of growing and improving support for me. My support service is still here, and they will keep helping me when I need them.
