Join us for an online workshop where carers can help shape the next Carers’ Strategy Action Plan. This is an opportunity to share what’s working, where challenges remain, and what needs to change to better support carers and the wider disability community.

Help shape the future for carers and our community!

Workshop date and time

Monday 2 February 2026 — 10:00 am to 11:30 am.

Who should attend?

Carers of disabled people and anyone caring for someone with support needs.

Why join?

Cabinet is considering a new Carers’ Strategy rolling Action Plan, and we want your feedback. Help shape the future by sharing your experiences and ideas on what’s working, where challenges persist, and what needs to change. Your feedback at this Carers Strategy Action Plan workshop will form part of a bigger report to government on the proposed Action Plan that will affect you. Read more about the Draft Carers’ Strategy Action Plan on the MSD website.

What will we discuss?

  • An outline of the Carers Strategy Action Plan
  • Priorities for carers who form a crucial part of the disability community
  • Your successes and what’s making a difference
  • Ongoing challenges and gaps in support
  • Ideas for improvement and feedback for government – as this is a ‘rolling’ action plan there is always opportunity for improving the plan

We want your voice to be heard – your feedback can help shape real change!  You don’t have to know all about the Action Plan; it will be explained in brief at the start of the meeting.

If joining, reading the following resources from MSD can help you give more focused feedback:
